There were dramatic scenes in Truro this afternoon after a person fell into the river.
Firefighters from the city, along with nearby Falmouth and St Austell, were called to Newham at 4pm following a call to say someone was in the water.
The crews included specialist water rescue teams from Falmouth and St Austell, along with appliances from Truro and Falmouth and two officers.
In the event, however, the person had been rescued before they arrived.
An ambulance and police officers were also called to assist.
