One of Culdrose's Flying Tigers and his naval colleague will be roaring through India together on the trip of a lifetime.

Lieutenant Max White from 814 Naval Air Squadron (NAS) - known as the Flying Tigers - and

Lieutenant Bob Andrews from 820 NAS are embarking on their trip following their recent deployment on HMS Ocean.

Having finished their time in the Middle East over Christmas, they have since travelled to India, where they will ride the length of the country on classic Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycles.

Prior to kick starting their tour, they visited the British High Commission in New Delhi and met with Captain Stuart Borland, a veteran of a similar expedition to the Himalayas last year.

Lieutenant White said of their upcoming venture: “Words really cannot do justice in explaining how excited we both are looking ahead to this challenge. To have the expertise and local knowledge provided by Captain Borland has been invaluable.”

The pair will ride west into Rajasthan, before heading south through Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and then onto Goa and Kerala.

They plan to complete their tour in under three weeks, and hope to visit a tiger sanctuary as well as friends of their respective squadrons en route.
