Pupils from four of Falmouth's primary schools were given an important festive task last week - to help the mayor decorate the Christmas tree which sits outside the town council offices.
A trio of youngsters from each school - Marlborough, St Francis and St Mary's Schools and Falmouth Primary Academy - turned up at the council chamber with a collection of decorations which had been made by children at the schools.
There were plenty of lollipop sticks, pipe cleaners, glitter and tinsel on display as the youngsters showed off their contributions to the tree decorations.
After enjoying fruit juice and biscuits in the chamber with the mayor and mayoress, Grenville and June Chappel, the children set about transforming the tree into a festive delight. Their efforts can be seen on the first floor landing of the Municipal Buildings on The Moor.
