The Lions Club of Falmouth and Penryn has handed over a cheque for £1,000 to the manager of the Cancer Research Shop in Market Street.
The money was raised at the Lions' recent charity golf tournament which saw 20 teams of four taking part at Falmouth Golf Club. At the end of the day everyone involved enjoyed an excellent meal from the gold club's kitchen.
The winners of this years event, now in its eighth year, were a team from the local club - Billy Ward, Peter Brierley, Tony Drew and Scott Pedlar.
