Mawnan Church held its annual Christmas Bazaar on Saturday morning and saw a good turn out of people eager to support the church and get into the festive spirit.

Held in the Mawnan Memorial Hall, the event included a variety of stalls, tombolas, competitions and raffles. There was also a chance for the young, and young at heart, to have their face painted and meet Father Christmas.

By the end of the morning £1,327.29 had been raised which will be donated to Cornwall Blood Bikes and Mawnan Church.

Cornwall Blood Bikes is a charity that was established four years ago and provides an out of hours motorcycle emergency collection and delivery service for NHS hospitals and their partners across the county, 365 days of the year.

The service is run by about 70 men and women and relies solely on public donations. It currently takes £6,000 a month to run its fleet of emergency specification BMW bikes - four of which are "hand-me-downs" from other charity groups in the UK.

Any other groups or organisations who would like to support the service should go to cornwallbloodbikes.org or email info@cornwallbloodbikes.org, for more information.
