The final ParkLive of 2016 took place in Falmouth's Kimberley Park on Sunday when crowds of all ages turned out to enjoy an afternoon in the sun soaking up the atmosphere and listening to the free entertainment.

ParkLive is an initiative delivered by Falmouth's community radio station, Source FM, who stage six events from spring until the end of September - all of which are completely free of charge to enjoy.

The final one of the year saw performances from several local bands and singers, including the Falmouth Gospel Choir, Red Foot Crow and Lichen to Giants, and storytelling and poetry in the spoken word marquee with contributions from Source FM's Ian Beaumont and poet Alexander Rhodes.

Station manager, Matthew Rogers, said: "It's been a hugely successful year for ParkLive. The public have turned out in force to support us and in turn we've given them over 72 family friendly and free performances to enjoy.

"Source FM has produced six events this year and with the funding from Falmouth Town Council, Townsend Accommodation, A1 Appliances and the University of Exeter we have been able to buy a new marquee and refresh our old ParkLive speakers so we are definitely hoping that our sponsors renew their contribution and that we'll be able to carry on producing more ParkLives in 2017.

"The event does also rely on a large number of loyal volunteers, but everyone at Source FM is really behind the event and wants to see it go from strength to strength."
