The Royal Marines Band Plymouth led Falmouth's annual Sea Sunday parade at the weekend and following behind were veterans, civic dignitaries and local cadets representing the younger generation.

Sea Sunday in Falmouth is organised by the town's branch of the Royal Naval Association, in collaboration with the town council and parish church, and offers seafarers past and present the chance to come together to show their support for those who work at sea and their families.

The parade formed on The Moor in brilliant sunshine on Sunday morning. Among those present, in addition to local veterans, were Falmouth and Penryn Sea Cadets, Falmouth RNLI, Falmouth's mayor and his deputy, Grenville Chappel and Trish Minson, Penryn mayor, Mark Snowdon and Penryn councillor and deputy chairman of Cornwall Council, Mary May.

Traffic was brought to a standstill as the procession made its way through the town centre to the Parish Church of King Charles the Martyr where the service was held. After this the parade reformed and marched the rest of the way through town, taking the salute outside Trago Mills. A reception was then held at the Watersports Centre.
