Penryn Post Office will be closed for three weeks from March 1 for refurbishment and modernisation before reopening with longer opening hours and more services.
The company has said the Penryn branch will reopen on March 22 as a main Post Office, providing a service from two full-screened counters and a Post Office service point which will offer selected services from Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5.30pm. The Post Office has said these changes will mean longer opening hours at the branch, with an extra five hours of service on Saturday afternoon. It will also now offer on demand foreign currencies.
Adrian Skinner, Post Office area manager, said: “We know how important Post Office services are to residents in Penryn. We are confident this vibrant modern Post Office, at the heart of the community, will be popular. The modernisation is part of a major government investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office.”
The branch will close for refurbishment on Tuesday, March 1, at 5.30pm, and customers can use alternative branches at Market Strand in Falmouth or at Mabe Burnthouse.
