The young and the not-so-young of Flushing were given a treat on Monday when they were invited in to see the first public performance of this year's village panto.

As is tradition, the Flushing Pantomime Group invited pupils from the school, toddlers from the village along with anyone over 60 to get a sneak preview of Knight Fever. Money raised will be donated to the school.

The show is described as "a very silly family pantomime set in Arthurian times, with knights, wizards, magic swords, mythical creatures and lots and lots of daft jokes, fun songs and audience participation."

The fair kingdom of Camelot is under threat from the evil Black Knight, and King Arthur, his knights and the magician Merlin seem unable to avert disaster. However, brave Justin, a humble stable boy with dreams to become a Knight of the Round Table, is quick to step into the breach. With the help (or should that be hindrance) of Lester the Court Jester and Dame Doris, he sets off on a quest to free a princess and save the kingdom from disaster.

Making up the cast are Claire Seviour as Princess Anna, Sorcha Yates as Justin, Alan Martindale as Dame Doris Dumpling, Oliver Eastburn as Lester the Jester, Harry Devereux as Merlin, Chris Martin as King Arthur, Julie Nosworthy as Queen Guinevere, Ben Evans as The Black Knight, Catherine Devereux as

Chardonnay la Fay and Layla Crabtree as the Lady of the Lake. In the chorus as: David and Judith Eastburn,

Abigail Hamilton, Sue Parriss, Jenna Lane and Layla Crabtree.

Knight Fever is being staged at St Peter's Church Hall with performances from tonight (Wednesday) until Friday being "bring you own picnic nights" with tickets costing £6. Saturday, February 13, is seated in rows with tickets costing £5 for adults and £4 for children.
