Two supporters of the Falmouth and Helston branch of Cats Protection took the plunge from 10,000 feet to raise money to help their furry feline friends.

Caroline "Caz" Langley and her partner Martin "Bat" Barnett, who are both aged 49 and live in Helston, decided to sign up for the tandem skydive from Perranporth Airfield after seeing the event advertised on the Cats Protection website.

"We both thought 'let's do something crazy and exciting' so went ahead and did it," said Caroline, who works at Bowdens in Helston. "It was the first skydive for the both of us. We went up in the plane at separate times and jumped out from approximately 10,000 feet. It was an amazing experience."

Caroline and Martin, who works for Fugro/Seacore, have both been supporters of Cats Protection for about six years and two-and-a-half years ago Caroline became a foster carer and so has been giving temporary homes to cats and kittens of all sizes until they are re-homed.

The pair have so far raised over £630 for the Falmouth, Helston and District Cats Protection. Caroline said: "We would like to say a big thank you to everyone that donated and sponsored us to do it (the skydive). Should anyone still want to donate it would be very much appreciated, our Justgiving site is still ongoing and the link is https//www.justgiving.com/batandcazskydive/."
