Three Personnel from the Fleet Air Arm’s Airborne Surveillance Force based at RNAS Culdrose were honoured recently for their faithful service.

At a small ceremony in 849 Naval Air Squadron’s hangar the commanding officer of RNAS Culdrose, Capt Adrian Orchard, presented Long Service and Good Conduct (LS&GC) Medals to the worthy recipients.

The LS&GC medal is awarded to naval personnel who have given exemplary service and have been recommended by their commanding officers. They must also have completed 15 years service and in possession of three good conduct badges.

Receiving their LS&GC medals were Sub Lieutenant Daniel Emptage, Chief Petty Officer James Turner and Petty Officer Stewart Marrison.

"It’s was a great honour to receive my LS&GC medal from the Captain of Culdrose," said Chief Petty Officer James Turner. “849 Squadron is a pretty busy place to be and never a dull moment. But I wouldn’t change it for the world.”

Alongside the medal trio was also Warrant Officer Andrew Driver, 849 NAS senior maintenance rating, who picked up his Warrant Officer's parchment on promotion.
