OCEAN Falmouth has signed up as event sponsor for this year's Children’s Hospice South West's (CHSW) Moonlight Memory Walk.

The fundraiser is returning to Falmouth for the seventh year on Saturday, October 3, and is a special, ladies only, sponsored walk in memory and celebration of loved ones. The evening begins with a memory ceremony and the walk then starts at 10pm and takes the women on a five mile route around Falmouth in the moonlight.

CHSW is delighted that Ocean Falmouth is continuing to support the charity, this time by sponsoring the event, as this will contribute considerably towards the event costs meaning that more of the ladies’ sponsorship money can go towards the care and support offered to the children and families that the charity looks after.

Last year almost 400 ladies took part and the event raised £20,000 for the children’s charity. The team from CHSW is now recruiting ladies from Falmouth and all across Cornwall to get involved again.

Kiley Tellam, events fundraiser for CHSW, said: “Ocean Falmouth have been so generous in sponsoring this year’s Moonlight Memory Walk, we really are so grateful for their support. We are also pleased that ladies from Ocean Falmouth are going to be taking part on the night and male colleagues will also be marshalling on the evening which will be absolutely fantastic. We hope the ladies of Falmouth are excited to join us again for this very special night.”

Anthony Scrivener, head of business at Ocean Falmouth, added: “After a very humbling visit to Little Harbour we were inspired to support the work of the charity. We are so pleased to be able to sponsor this special event and the fantastic work that CHSW does for local families. We hope the Moonlight Memory Walk is a great success.”
