The Lizard lifeboat rescued three people in a broken down fishing boat who were stuck two miles off the coast on Tuesday morning.
The lifeboat was launched just before 11am to help the crew of the 30ft commercial fishing vessel Jorja Louise, which had broken down off Mullion when it lost all the oil in the gear box.
Having found the Jorja Louise, the volunteer lifeboat crew passed a towline to the boat, after they had heard concerns that the gear box would fail before reaching harbour in Newlyn.
An RNLI spokesperson said: "The lifeboat took the vessel in tow to Newlyn harbour where it was able to use its own means of propulsion to get to its berth."
