Gweek Players will be performing The Cemetery Club by Ivan Menchell at the Village Hall from June 3 to 6 and contrary to the impression given by its title, the production is "funny and heartwarming."

Three New York widows meet once a month for tea before going to the cemetery to visit their husbands’ graves. Ida is sweet-tempered, Lucille is the life and soul of the party while Doris is old-fashioned and judgmental. Then, widower Sam appears on the scene and takes a liking to one the widows.

Directed by Lynn Blake, there are performances at 7.30pm on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday plus a 2.30pm matinee on the Saturday. Ticket prices, which include dessert and tea or coffee, are £9 on Wednesday and Saturday, or £10 on Thursday and Friday. They are available by calling 0845 094 8874 or from the theatre group's website, www.gweekplayers.co.uk.
