Truro Cathedral will reverberate with the 'magical' sound of one of the great musical instruments in the country launch as the 2015 organ recital series starts on Friday
Luke Bond, assistant director of music, will give the first recital starting at 1.10pm, with the series continuing each Friday from March to mid October.
The Father Willis organ is deemed by many national and international organists to have a "magical sound and quality that lifts it above many others".
There will be a big screen linked to several cameras so the audience can see the organists combine the organ’s four keyboards with some dazzling footwork on the foot pedals. .
In the weeks and months following this opening recital, our series will be in full swing, with lots of top names booked to come and play on Fridays between now and October.
A full listing of the recitals can be downloaded from the cathedral website, www.trurocathedral.org.uk. The series is free with a suggested donation to be given.
