While the daffodils are nodding and spring is here, a blast of chilly weather will see temperatures drop this evening.
Gritters will be out on the roads this evening as temperatures drop as low as two degrees, with the chance of further hail storms.
Tuesday will see another chilly day, with a temperature of four degrees expected. However things are looking up for later in the week as temperatures just about manage to rise above ten degrees.
For those heading 'upcountry', expect even colder weather as further heavy, wintry showers are expected overnight Monday and into Tuesday.
The last blast of chill winter is due to a cold westerly flow which became established across the UK on Sunday night. This is a very unstable airmass bringing showers and hail.
