Specialist equipment had to be drafted in to help rescue a man that had fallen into the Malpas River in Truro yesterday.
Appliances from Truro along with the specialist water rescue equipment from Falmouth and St Austell were mobilised to the emergency call just before noon.
Firefighters managed to safely secure and retrieve the man from the water using lines and a triple extension ladder.
The man was then passed into the care of the ambulance service.
