Collections are being taken at Helston’s Tesco supermarket for the area’s food bank.
Customers are being asked to donate an item of food or toiletries when they do their shopping, which will be distributed by the Helston and The Lizard Food Bank to those struggling to make ends meet.
Normally the charity asks for non-perishable food items, but as this collection is Christmas related then festive fare such as mince pies are acceptable provided the date stretches to the end of December.
This Saturday, between 10am and 5pm, Brownies and Scouts from the town will be in store packing bags for shoppers in return for a donation of money for the charity.
