A funeral service for one of St Keverne’s most prolific charity fundraisers will take place this Saturday.
Last week the Packet reported on the death of former firefighter and well known village figure Brian Edwards, who passed away in hospital after a short illness.
A service to remember him will now take place on Saturday at St Keverne Parish Church, at 11am.
It will include performances from more than 30 instrumentalists from the different bands Mr Edwards was a member of, with a similar number from choirs he had organised concerts with.
People have been asked not to give flowers but instead make a donation to the collection for Cornwall Air Ambulance.
His son Ian said the family had been inundated with well wishes, estimating they had received between 90 and 100 cards.
He added: “The response to our sad news has been amazing.”
