A fire in a shed near St Columb spread to a nearby garage before firefighters were able to put it out in the early hours of this morning.

Six firefighters were called to the blaze in Castle an Dinas at around 3am after a report of a fire seen from a distance.

A fire service spokesperson said: "On investigation crews found a shed on fire which had spread to an adjacent garage.

"Crews used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel, a triple extension ladder and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire."
