The people of Stithians will be able to enjoy the delights of a pantomime next year after a break of more than a quarter of a century, but help is needed to ensure the production makes it to the stage.

A small group of people have got together with the intention of putting on the panto next April and are now inviting anyone interested in getting involved to attend a meeting to be held at the Seven Stars at 7.30pm on Monday (September 22).

The call has gone out for actors, scenery constructors, costume designers, make-up artists, lighting technicians, front of house, back stage helpers and even people willing to sell refreshments.

An initial meeting was led by Bev Moss, who has recently moved to the village and who trained at a variety of studios throughout the UK under the tutorship of experts from Dartington College and the RSC. Bev has played at the Grand Theatre Blackpool and has toured around Europe.

He said: “I am really looking forward to being involved in a Stithians Theatre Group, both on stage and off with the wonderful people of Stithians. Are you ready for panto? Oh yes you are.”
