A new mixed choir is launching in St Keverne tonight to fill the gap left by the relocation of its male voice singers.

The choir will have its first weekly meeting tonight (Wednesday) at 7.30pm, in St Keverne Church Hall. There will be an opportunity for those involved to find out what new members want to get out of the choir before having a go at singing parts of one or two songs.

The choir will be under the musical direction of Christine Cumber, an accomplished soloist, who has had many years experience working with choirs.

Last year the St Keverne Male Voice Choir relocated its practice sessions to Helston, leaving the village without a choir for the first time in more than 60 years.

But now a few of its former members have joined forces in the hope that a new mixed choir can fill the gap.

Anyone is welcome to attend the first meeting, whatever their age or singing ability.

Anyone requiring more information should call Christine on 01326 231709 and “like” the group on Facebook by searching for “St Keverne Choir/Singing Group.”
