Royal Mail is to help save seals stranded off the Cornish coast and in order to mark the occassion it is launching a new collection of stamps that celebrate the diversity of marine life.
Postman Jeremy Lethbridge will be joining in the celebrations, and is planning to make a special delivery to the National Seal Sanctuary, near Helston, next Tuesday: a giant version of the new stamp featuring the grey seal.
Julietta Edgar, head of special stamps at Royal Mail, heralded the new collection of stamps as "stunning visual examples of our marine life."
The Royal Mail's donation to the Helston seal sanctuary will fund a special seal rescue bag and cage. To date the centre has saved over 1,000 rescued pups.
