A celebrity DJ and TV presenter gave her seal of approval to the Cornish Seal Sanctuary when she paid a surprise visit.

Former Radio 1 DJ, Sara Cox, left the staff and visitors at the Cornish Seal Sanctuary delighted when she visited the site with her family and dog, Beano.

A spokesperson for the Cornish Seal Sanctuary said: “Sara was super nice and was really, really lovely to everyone.

“In Cornwall you assume that you will never get anyone like that down. She was really positive about Cornwall, which was lovely. She said that she had really enjoyed her day and has been tweeting about it.”

Much to everyone’s delight Sara was also more than happy to pose for photographs.

The DJ and TV personality spent last week holidaying in Cornwall with her family and had previously written on Twitter posts indicating that she might visit.

Sara and her family chose to visit the Cornish Seal Sanctuary at a very popular time, in middle of the summer holidays.

Despite the summer holiday crowds, the sanctuary spokesperson said how nice Sara was to everyone, with the family spending their time enjoying the wildlife there is to offer.

She seemed especially impressed by the sea lions, which her children were able to feed and ended her visit at the sanctuary by making a donation and telling staff to keep up the good work.

Sara made the most of what the county had to offer during her visit and appeared to be very impressed.

Last Tuesday she tweeted: “It’s nearly midnight and I’m still Googling all things Cornwall. #obsessed.”

The family spent a lot of their time exploring the beaches on the north coast.
