A FUNDRAISER has been held for a Helston schoolboy learning to walk.

Josh Mills and his family were the guests of honour at the event where St Stythians Male Voice Choir performed.

Fred Angove, a member of the choir, said the event went “really well.”

The fundraising afternon was held last Sunday at Flambards, which said it was more than happy to host the concert.

A representative said: “We try to do as much as possible to help those in Cornwall.”

The St Stythians Male Voice Choir performed to a crowd to raise money for Josh, who suffers from cerebral palsy. The funds will go to help Josh with the care necessary following an operation to help him walk longer distances with crutches.

The good weather made the day enjoyable, and a special figure made an appearance at the concert too - Ferdi the theme park's mascot.

“Ferdi the Fox came out and Josh enjoyed himself,” Mr Angove said. “It was just a really great day.”
