UPDATE: The water supply has now been reconnected and the burst pipe isolated, says South West Water.
This was the scene yesterday evening.
The company has said that water should now be restored, however there is the chance that homes will have temporary low pressure and discoloured water.
It advises running a cold kitchen tap until it clears, with the water pressure also expected to return to normal.
A suspected burst water main at Commercial Road in Penryn has left parts of the road underwater close to Penryn Bridge.
Police have closed Penryn Bridge due to the burst water main - and are diverting cars up through the town.
SWW engineers are at the scene fixing the problem and hope to restore water supplies soon.
Homes in the town are also reported to be without water. Are you without water? Let us know
