Bright colours lined the streets of Mullion last Thursday as the children from Mullion Community Primary School paraded their way through the town.
Pupils brought the taste of Rio to the school when they dressed up in their handmade carnival outfits and danced their way through the streets, samba-style shaking rattles and carrying homemade lanterns.
Staff, parents and the students also competed in a friendly five-aside games of “human-tabletop-football”, bringing more of the Brazilian World Cup to Cornwall.
The children enjoyed themselves as they played in the giant inflatable Zorb balls and helped out with the fete.
Back at the school, there were cake stalls, a barbecue and much more to keep everybody entertained.
The children also performed a song that they had all written themselves, amongst other entertainment.
More than £400 was raised for the school during the course of the day, making the carnival a huge success.
A school spokesperson said that the day was such a success because of the “good teamwork between parents, staff and students”, with everybody pitching in to help.
