The Rotary Club of Falmouth has handed over a cheque for £1,000 to the Children’s Hospice Southwest, bringing the total amount raised by the club for the charity to £5,500 in recent years.
The latest donation was part of the money raised by the club’s annual Christmas float which tours the area, playing carols and seeking donations from the generous residents of Falmouth and surrounding communities.
Present at the handover ceremony, at a lunch held at the Greenbank Hotel, were Mary Murfin, from the Children’s Hospice Southwest, and Chris Neate, a nurse at Little Harbour Hospice in St Austell. The cheque was handed over by former Falmouth Rotary president, Rob Homewood.
