Councillors in Penryn have supported the proposal that a Town Team be set up independently of the council to encourage economic growth within the town.

The team would be made up of representatives of organisations and businesses and would offer an advisory role and providing a means of accessing funding for the town.

The council will hear a detailed proposal including a draft constitution and proposed membership at its meeting in September.
