Police are searching for vandals who caused thousands of pounds worth of damage by throwing paint stripper over cars in a Mylor Bridge cul-de-sac.
A gel-like substance was thrown over four vehicles in Bonython Close during the night of Thursday, June 19, to Friday, June 20, causing bubbling and stripping-away of paintwork.
A Volkswagen Beetle suffered an estimated £2,500 worth of damage, described by police as “extensive”, when the substance was thrown over its boot and offside panels, and a silver Nissan Juke had the chemical on its doors, panels, boot and bonnet, at a cost also estimated at £2,500. A silver Citroen Xsara Picasso was also badly damaged.
A police spokesperson said: “It is under investigation. We have done house to house enquiries.”
Anyone with information about the incident should call police on 101 quoting reference CR/082989/14.
