The Rebel Brewing Co. has won Gold at the Taste of the West awards with one of its classic craft range beers Penryn Pale Ale (PPA).
The individual products put forward for the awards are voted on their individual merits for taste, appearance and aroma. The 4.3% ale has a fruity and hoppy nose with a hint of peach aroma and a lingering taste of lemongrass and grapefruit, which leaves a nice mellow bitterness on the tongue.
As well as the gold award for PPA, Rebel received bronze and silver awards for the rest of their product range including Mexi-Cocoa which won the trophy for 'Supreme Champion Beer' and 'Best in Class' at last years CAMRA (campaign for real ale) beer festival held each year at the Princess Pavilions.
Dom Lilly from Rebels brewing team said: βThe awards are testimony to the pride we take in the production of our beers and winning a Taste of the West award is a great endorsement for all of our product range.β
Taste of the West is a unique membership organisation for food and drink producers, distributors, restaurants, cafes, pubs, hotels, farm shops and speciality retailers in the South West β all passionate about the provenance and quality of the products they make, serve or sell
