Councillors in Falmouth have voted to continue providing CCTV coverage in the town by taking over contracts previously held by Cornwall Council.
Falmouth will take on the contracts for an initial twelve- month period while it investigates possibilities for a central control room in Truro.
Cornwall Council has said it will provide some maintenance and upgrade costs, and Falmouth will look at the possibility of making its cameras wireless to provide an element of future proofing.
