British Transport Officers (BTP) have issued an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the theft of a bike from a railway station in Cornwall.

The incident happened shortly after 3pm at St Austell on Thursday, 22 May.

PC Bob Edwards of BTP Truro, said: “The cycle had been secured with a lock at the bike racks on platform one in the morning. Shortly after 3pm a man stole the bike, exiting the station via the car park.”

The bicycle is a black, red and white Apollo Evade mountain bike worth £220.

PC Edwards added: “The owner had recently bought the bike and was understandably upset to find it had been stolen on their return to the station.

“We believe the man in this picture can help with our investigation into this incident. I would ask anyone who recognises him to contact us.”
