Pupils at St Michael’s School in Helston enjoyed the company of their family members at an end of topic art workshop recently.
Both year one classes at the school invited their parents and siblings in for the afternoon to celebrate the end of their topic ‘waterworld’.
The families arrived at 2pm, to work with their child and their friends to create an Andy Goldsworthy inspired piece of natural art work.
Class teacher Suzanne Bray said: “As the topic was based around the outdoors, this seemed like a perfect way to end the topic, with parents and children enjoying working together, using natural materials to create something special. Afterwards, parents took up the opportunity to look through their child’s books and could see how much progress they had made.”
The final half term will see the year group learning about the history based topic ‘castles’, which will include a visit to Pendennis Castle at the end of June.
