PUPILS at Falmouth Primary Academy were joined by parents as they helped celebrity chef Jamie Oliver break a world record last week.
The school joined others from the town and about a million other children from around the globe to take part in Food Revolution Day which saw youngsters and their families take part in the biggest cooking lesson in the world.
The event took place over 24 hours, starting in Australia and making its way around the world. It involved groups of children watching a broadcast by Jamie Oliver in which he showed them step by step how to make healthy and affordable rainbow wraps.
In his introduction, the chef said: “I believe it is every child’s human right to have access to food education in school.”
At Falmouth Primary Academy, 48 children taken from across the school groups, from the nursery to year five, were invited to join parents/grandparents in the school hall to join in the global cookery lesson.
With ingredients including feta cheese, beetroot, carrots and cabbage, the youngsters took pride in putting together their very own rainbow wraps.
