The driver of a coach involved in a crash that killed two women has been released on bail after being arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

The 57 year-old man from Exeter was taken into police custody at Launceston yesterday.

The driver was released on police bail until August 11. He was released from custody on Tuesday evening.

The bus was operated by Carmel and police believe it was being used for a trip organised by Age Concern from Exmouth.

Police have also confirmed that both the deceased passengers are women.
