After last year’s sell out performance at Porthleven Food & Music Festival the Hieronymus Quartet is set to return for the 2014 event.

The prize winning quartet, which met at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2011, will be performing at St Bartholomew’s Church, Porthleven on Friday, April 25 at 6.30pm

Its members, all in their mid twenties, hail from Canada, South Korea, France and the UK and all draw on their contrasting musical backgrounds and their wealth of experience with various other ensembles to shape their own unique sound.

The programme this Friday will feature Haydn, Beethoven and Debussy.

Trevor Osborne, who is sponsoring the event, said: “I was totally spellbound by the quartet; it was wonderful to hear such a virtuoso performance in such intimate surroundings.”

Tickets, including an interval glass of wine, cost £9 in advance and £10 on the door. Contact Rosie Hughes on 01326 574270.
