QUITE a sight greeted visitors to The Moor in Falmouth on Saturday where six burly men were seen dancing around in high heels, skirts, stockings and garters.

Brothers Kerrin (Kez) and Ryan Hollywood were joined by Dave Kellow, Luke Blakemore, Nathan Jolly and Darren Johns for Kez’s Killer Heels Challenge which saw them teeter the one mile through Falmouth’s main street, but for a good cause.

The lads were raising money for the Bissoe-based animal charity, K9 Crusaders, where they all volunteer. They came up with the idea of swapping their normal flat footwear for, in the main, stiletto heels and then agreed to complement them with skirts and, in a couple of cases, stockings and a garter.

While on The Moor, they were roped into joining the team from Embrace Fitness to take part in the Cancer Slam, providing even more entertainment for the gathered crowds.

It is not yet known exactly how much the lads raised but to date the figure stands at about £500. There’s still time to sponsor the lads, just go to www.caninecrusaders.org.uk.

After getting over their embarrassment and nursing their feet, the lads have reflected on how much they enjoyed the day. Darren Collins posted on the charity’s Facebook page: “Well done to us all. That was hard to do in high heels, my feet was sore the next day. It was fun.”
