A holidaymaker staying at Calloose Caravan Park in Leedstown, who was the victim of an assault, was so angry about it that he punched one of the caravans on the site causing £2,830 damage, Truro magistrates heard.
Before them appearing by video link from Birmingham was Jake Thompson, aged 24, of College Street, Birmingham, who pleaded guilty to damaging the caravan which belonged to Graham Barnes.
Gail Hawkley, for the CPS, said the person who assaulted Thompson was dealt with by the police, but shortly after the attack, Thompson had twice punched the outside of a caravan in anger, causing the damage. He had no previous convictions.
Thompson said he was really sorry for the damage and it was not in his nature to be violent in any way. This was just a moment of recklessness.
He was given a conditional discharge for a year and told to pay compensation of £100 and £100 in costs and surcharge.
