Falmouth's Spring Festival the star of BBC TV show
10:00am Saturday 5th April 2014 in Cornwall
Falmouth will feature in the BBC’s Great British Garden Revival after a film crew spent time in the town last week re-enacting the Paint the Town Yellow Day.
The actual event had marked the launch of the BID’s Falmouth Spring Festival and it was down to BID manager, Richard Wilcox to drum up the support of a dozen volunteers and Winchester Growers, who donated additional daffodils.
Fronting the new show is Carol Klein, of Gardeners’ World fame, who interviewed local people as daffodils were handed out to shoppers and traders.
Mr Wilcox said: “What a delight it was to welcome TV presenter Carol Klein and the BBC film crew to Falmouth. It was great to be able to showcase our vibrant town and especially its community spirit, which once again shone through.
“The weather looked favourably upon us as we handed out daffodils and talked to visitors, locals and shops. I’d like to say a big thank you to Jacqui Owen from Gyllyngdune Gardens for her huge support, the Falmouth University student ambassadors, and also to the generosity of Winchester Growers who once again donated daffodils.
“It is partnership working like this that really is elevating Falmouth, helping us to achieve great national profile, as well as attracting visitors and new, exciting businesses to our lovely town.”
