A WEEK of activities at Helston Museum has delighted visitors of all ages.
The kite-making workshop proved particularly popular with children, with places booked out.
For older visitors a lunchtime lecture provided by Adrian Spalding, who spoke on Loe Bar, was a hit and turned out to be standing room only.
Other activities over the week included a quilling workshop teaching the intricate paper craft, and a vintage games day that, although quieter that some of the events, still saw a steady stream of people.
They enjoyed playing various vintage board games, some original and others reproduction, such as ludo and snakes and ladders.
Curator Katherine Ashton said: “They seemed to be enthusiastic. The adults that came seemed to enjoy it as well. It would have been nice if we did get a few more kids along.”
The museum has also launched a book club, with the first read chosen as The King's General by Daphne du Maurier.
This is a book club with a twist, however, as not only will members be reading and discussing the book, but also look at items from the museum’s archive that relate to the story.
It is not too late to join, with the next meeting on Wednesday, April 2 at 10.30am. The morning costs £3 per person, to include tea or coffee and biscuits.
There are plenty more events like these being organised for both adults and children during the Easter holidays, with Katherine adding: “Watch this space.”
