A date has been set for the trial of BBC Radio presenter Freddy Zapp over sexual assault allegation.

Zapp, 62, of Dopps Terrace, Redruth, faces allegations of assault by beating a female and a charge of sexual assault against a female over the age of 16 in November.

Freelance presenter Zapp has hosted Freddy Zapp's Jukebox on BBC Radio Cornwall since February 1992.

He was an entertainer in his own right before starting at BBC Radio Cornwall, running tribute and karaoke shows for many years.

He was released on conditional bail and is set to appear at Truro Crown Courttrial on September 22.
