8:37pm Sunday 19th January 2014 in Cornwall
Police are appealing for motorists to take extra care following a series of collisions in Cornwall this morning.
The A394 at Rame Cross near Penryn was closed earlier today so that officers could investigate a serious collision involving two vehicles.
Officers are treating injuries to two casualties as either life changing or life threatening.
Police from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses to this incident, which took place just after 8am, to contact them on 101 quoting log number 204 of January 19.
Two vehicles were also involved in a collision on the B3297 at Burras Wendon, near Helston.
Ambulance personnel attended the scene and treated a casualty for back and neck injuries. The road was closed whilst emergency services attended the scene and to allow recovery of the vehicles.
At 09.08am Police were called to Bassett Road, near Redruth, following a report of a single vehicle RTC involving a motorcycle. The male rider was treated at the scene for serious leg injuries and taken to Trelsike hospital.
A police spokesman said: “Road conditions were obviously difficult this morning and I would urge motorists to slow down and take extra care.
"We have received numerous reports of ice on the roads and whilst the conditions may appear to have improved there still could be patches of untreated roads which remain dangerous."
