Children at Halwin Pre-school near Porkellis have said a big thank you for new heaters.
The new heating was |funded by three grants, primarily from the Cornwall 100 Club, with additional funding from Councillor Loveday Jenkin’s community chest fund and Wendron parish council The Cornwall 100 Club is a group of like-minded businesses that believe in social responsibility at a grass root level andfinancially support Cornish communities and local charities.
The pre-school’s treasurer, Karen Carpenter, said: “We were thrilled to have been successful with the |fundraising for the new heaters, they have really made a difference to our Pre-school building.
“We are so thankful to the Cornwall 100 Club, Wendron Parish Council and Councillor Loveday Jenkin for enabling us to provide a warmer environment for the staff and children.”
There was a surprise for the children when councillor Jenkin brought along a |book to read to the |children about Spot the Dog all in the Cornish language.
Halwin Pre-school, judged as outstanding in its most recent OFSTED report, is open every weekday morning from 8.45am to 11.45am with afternoon sessions available Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays till 3pm.
