A fire in the engine room of a ship docked alongside a jetty at Falmouth Docks saw firefighters from three towns called out yesterday evening.
Crews from Falmouth, Helston, and Redruth attended a report of the fire on the HMS Tyne just after 8pm.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the smoke-logged engine room to confirm that a small fire was already out.
The ship's ventilation system was used to clear the smoke and the firefighters had left the scene by 9pm.
