Falmouth town centre’s longest established coffee house, Cavendish, is once again under new ownership after it was sold by Rachel and Stephen Jones to Ian Williams just before Christmas.

Mr Williams from Falmouth said he and his family were delighted to take over the business.

He told the Packet: “It’s a very exciting time for us. The Cavendish is an institution in the town and we both feel very privileged and proud to be involved in taking it forward. We would like to thank Rachel and Steve for all of their hard work and look forward to meeting everybody.”

The Cavendish was originally opened around 30 years ago by Terry and Maria Barnes.

Rachel Jones said it had always been her dream to run the coffee house and that dream became a reality just over three years ago.

“The Cavendish coffee house is a big part of the town and I hope our customers will agree that over the past three-and-a-half years, we have brought it up to date without losing its feel,” she said.

“We have really enjoyed our time with the Cavendish team and are delighted that many locals from the town visit regularly and many tourists return year on year.

“It was important to us that we sold to a local family who shared a similar passion and vision for the Cavendish as ourselves.

“Steve and I would like to thank those we have worked with and all our customers for their loyalty and support.”
