Glasses at the ready as Falmouth Beer Festival returns

Real ale fans are advised to get their tankards ready for what is billed as the "biggest and best Falmouth Beer Festival yet.

Months of enthusiastic and dedicated preparation by he Cornish branch of the Campaign For Real Ale have gone into arranging what is set to be a "truly wonderful celebration" of over 200 real ales, ciders, perries and fruit wines.

There will also be traditional games and free entertainment throughout the festival.

The festival at Princess Pavillion will open to the public on Friday and Saturday from 11am – 11pm. General admission is £4, CAMRA members £2.50 with both including a souvenir glass and programme. An optional admission costing £10 will also include a token starter pack.

No offence to the friendly looking and slightly bemused couple in the picture supplied for this article, but really? Is that the best you can do Packet? You've made the Beer Festival look like a quiet tea party for gentle retirees. It a big, loud, brash, friendly celebration populated, mostly but by no means not entirely, by people under 30! And, though I'm more like the folks in the aforementioned photo, I shall be attending as per usual.
