Falmouth based Pants cancer charity calls for volunteers
7:00am Sunday 15th September 2013 in Cornwall
A Falmouth based cancer charity is appealing to people of all ages to join it as volunteers and help it grow.
The Pants Cancer Charity has a range of volunteer opportunities available from collection boxes to fundraising and helping in the shops.
Founder Jeannette Preston, said: “Volunteers are an integral part of the success of any charity and we are lucky to have the volunteers we do. To help us raise more awareness of cancers of the pants area and to raise more money for the charity we need more help and are appealing to people with even just a few hours a week of spare time to step forward as a volunteer.”
“Volunteering is a rewarding experience whether you just want to fill free time or if you are looking to gain skills and experience.”
Set up by Jeannette in 2009 after her own experience of cancer, Pants aims to raise awareness of women’s and men’s cancers in the pants areas and actively supports the smear test and HPV vaccination campaign.
The charity currently operates six retail units; Posh Pants, Fancy Pants and Shabby Chic Pants, and three retail units called Hubs in Falmouth and are looking for volunteers to help with their day to day running.
Volunteers are also needed to help with retail, Gift Aid, administration and fundraising. Anyone who would like to help Pants is invited to send a CV with details of availability and what role they are interested to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07582044879 for more details.
