Falmouth Bay residents enjoy sunny garden party: PICTURES

THE rain clouds disappeared on Saturday afternoon to shine on Falmouth Bay Resident’s Association fun-filled garden party at the Princess Pavilion.
A number of local businesses and community groups supported the event, which was officially opened by Falmouth mayor Geoffrey Evans, either by having stalls or providing prizes for the events raffle and auction.
Association member, Elaine Leather said: “We were very lucky with the weather as we had been hit by a hail storm on Friday in our area of Falmouth but the sun came out in time.”
The garden party helps the association raise awareness about how it can address community issues that may affect people who live in the Swanpool to Maenporth and Pendennis areas.
Mrs Leather added: “Our garden party is family friendly, with free |face-painting, a children’s entertainer, music and children’s games and we had fabulous raffle and auction prizes such as meals out and overnight stays at local hotels to afternoon teas and a signed Rick Stein book.
“It was a lovely occasion and we would like to say thank you to people living in Falmouth and encourage them to become members of the Association if they can.
“This year to support our town we raised money to paint benches along Cliff Road and Castle Drive to help in this time of cuts.”
