Helpers transform Helston churchyard: PICTURES
1:00pm Friday 6th September 2013 in Cornwall
St Michael’s Churchyard has been transformed thanks to a second day of action by the Helston Town Tidy Team.
Pathways have seemingly been created from nothing, but in fact have been uncovered from underneath years of mud.
It means those visiting loved ones buried in the churchyard, or simply walking through, have far easier access.
Around 20 volunteers have cleared more than 200 metres of paths.
The volunteers, who are part of the aesthetics group of Helston Business Improvement Partnership, did not stop with the ground, however.
They also trimmed back hedges and tidied trees, to make the whole area tidier and brighter.
Sunday’s activity marked the second phase of work in the churchyard. An initial clear up was carried out at the start of July.
